Camping in Moab

I have a visitor behavior class right now,

and we talk about user conflict, accesibility, and random other things.

This class is in my major so i have it with my friends.

Instead of a class presentation, i helped plan our class trip.

We decided to car camp in Moab.

P.S. Car camping is regular camping to all of us, like at a campsite, etc.

So we left friday morning in 2 cars. We get to Moab and adventure through the visitors center for awhile.

We were trying to get a permit for a hike for the next day and we had to have someone speak to us so that this trip was actually educational...

After a few hours at the visitors center we headed to our campsite and set everything up.

We realized there was an arch and a hike to it a mile from our campsite, so we went.

After a couple hours of exploring, and enjoying the view we headed back for dinner.

It was a pretty chilly evening...

I introduced 'do you love your neighbor' as a way to stay warm and have fun.

After sharing our scar stories around the fire, we went to bed!

Saturday we woke up and got ready for the day.

Our first hike was in the fiery furnace!

It was a really cool hike with tons of slot canyons off the trail.

We spent hours upon hours of exploring and climbing and gettin dirty!

We even had a rescue mission for a hat and sunglasses we saw in a crack...

a very old and worn harvard hat and 80's sunglasses were saved and taken as souveniers!

After seeing lots of arches and cool things, we made our way out and headed over to

the delicate arch!

That hike is not much fun. It's uphill the whole time, which means coming down your toes are jammed in your shoes and your thighs are bracing and tight. So, i'm pretty sore.

But, i had never been to the delicate arch so it was pretty cool to finally see!

After that we made our way back to the camp and found out that dinner wouldn't be ready for another 2 hours....so we went into Moab city for random errands, etc.

Get back to camp and have dinner (boneless ribs, beans, red potatoes, and corn bread...yum!)

We sit around the fire again chatting the night away even during snow/rain moments.

We go to bed and we all had such a wonderful night! We were all warm and comfy!

Everyone except our teacher...apparently he was throwing up throughout the night.

But, he recovered for our sunday hike!

So on sunday we pack up camp and head to Devil's Garden for our last hike.

This hike included Landscape Arch (the largest arch) and double o arch and more.

I will honestly say, i was arched out! We finished the hike and headed home!

It was a really fun weekend!
